Seneca Falls - Charles "Charlie" D. Wimmer, 77, of County Road 121, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away Tuesday (September 27, 2016) at Unity Hospital, Rochester, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Wednesday (October 5) from 4 - 7 PM. Committal services for Charlie, with military honors, will be held on Thursdy (October 6) at 11 AM at Sampson Veterans Cemetery, Route 96A, Romulus, NY with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Charlie was born in Redwood, NY on June 30, 1939 the son of the late Peter & Hedwig Hainzer Wimmer. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1962. He had owned and operated C.D. Wimmer Paving of Auburn, NY and had owned and operated C.W. & Son Inc. of Auburn, NY along with his late son, C. Scott Wimmer. Charlie was an active member of the Canoga Sportsmen's Club. He was a member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 and the Seneca Falls American Legion, Kirk-Casey Post #366. Charlie, who loved to cook, cooked for years at the many events at the Canoga Sportsmen's Club. He loved the outdoors, took pride in his lawn and his garden, & enjoyed hunting. His dog, Zipper, was very special to him.
