Alice A. (Kamfor) Michaels

Waterloo - Alice A. Michaels, 82, of Waterloo, NY, died Saturday (January 12, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, on Friday (January 18) from 5 - 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (January 19) at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Center St., Waterloo, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY. If desired, contributions may be made to, Seton Hill University, 1 Seton Hill Dr., Greensburg, Pa. 15601 or St. Mary's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165. Alice was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 7, 1930 the daughter of the late George & Emma Monyok Kamfor. She was a graduate of Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in English. She later attended George Mason College in Fairfax, Va to acquire her teaching certificate for secondary education. She was editor for the East Aurora Advertisor, East Aurora, NY, taught secondary mathematics in Fauquier County, Va and was a technical documents editor for the Department of Defense. She was a member of the Seton Hill Alumni Association and St. Mary's Church. She was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, proudly celebrating her 42nd year of sobriety. She lived by words of the Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference. She is survived by: 1 Daughter - Judi (John) Ludwig - Waterloo, NY 4 Sons - Terrence (Dawn) Moore - Greenleaf, Idaho James (Donna) Moore - Hagerstown, Maryland William Moore - Ocean City, Maryland Phillip Moore - Siler City, North Carolina 13 Grandchildren - Teresa, Stephanie, Melissa, William, Christopher & Kyle Ludwig, Tiffany, Tyler (Elizabeth), & Toby Moore, Allyson & Ryan Moore, & Cian & Taryn Moore 2 Great Grandchildren - Tyler Clayton Gratteau & Michael Christopher Hernandez 4 Nieces and Nephews- Gordon, Michael, John(Nikki) and Margaret Law In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her brother, Michael Kamfor Please visit: doranfuneralhome.com
