Assunta "Sue" M. (Simone) DePaolis

Waterloo: Passed away on Wednesday, December 23rd, 2020 at Geneva General Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 31st, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Interment to follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery in Seneca Falls.

Sue was born in Seneca Falls, NY, the daughter of the late James and Jean (Cafaro) Simone. She attended local schools and was a lifetime resident of the Seneca Falls area. Sue was employed by Westcott Ruler Company in Seneca Falls, and then worked at and retired from Seneca Knitting Mill. She was the biggest fan of Elvis Presley and treasured her collection of memorabilia. Sue enjoyed her games, especially Rummy, and liked to solve word search puzzles. Sue was a resident for many years at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo, where she thoroughly enjoyed partaking in all nursing home activities, as well as talking with, meeting, and socializing with the residents and staff.

Survived by her sons, James (Doreen) DePaolis of Queens, Drew (Gina Spath) Sorensen of North Carolina; grandsons, Kevin (Whitney), Jacob (Madison), and Joshua Sorensen, all of North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Charleston and Callum Sorensen, also of North Carolina; brothers, James Simone and Lawrence Simone; sister, Joanne Hoover; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
