Craig M. Reid, Sr.

Craig M. Reid, Sr., 52, of Seneca Falls, passed at his home on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025. A time for family and friends to gather will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 3 – 5 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls.

Craig was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Mary Reid and the late John Venable. After living in other areas of the country, Craig and his family moved to Seneca Falls to be closer to family that lived nearby and have called the Finger Lakes home since. Craig was always a man who had a larger-than-life personality. He could almost always find the good in most situations, and brought a sense of easiness to those around him. To his closest family and friends, he was the one you could always count on to bring you up when you were feeling down and put a smile on your face. He was a longtime Dallas Cowboys fan and liked to fish many of the lakes and streams in the area. Craig also loved music, especially 80’s and 90’s R&B. He had found his calling working at the KFC in Waterloo as the lead cook, where he not only worked for the last 10 years, but also found himself winning corporate awards for the delicious chicken he cooked. Most of all, Craig loved spending time with his grandkids and being their #1 Paw.

Craig is survived by his mother, Mary Battle; four children, Janiqua (Yaseen) Hasan, Elijah Felix, Alex and Lyric Reid; five grandchildren, Eleya, Jibril, Ameer, Amaya, and Ziya Hasan; siblings, John (Holly) Reid, Pleschette (Robert) Harrison, Todd Reid, Willie (Danielle Larzelere) Battle; step-mother, Brenda Venable; close friends, John Whitfield, Pat McDermott, and Kent Vail; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his dad, Craig was predeceased by his infant son, Craig Jr.; maternal grandmother, Lizzie Reid, and paternal grandmother, Mary Sue Muse.
