GENEVA - On Sunday (April 25, 2021) Dr. Curtis Bonafiglia passed away surrounded by family, at home in Geneva, N.Y. at the age of 62, after a tragically short battle with cancer.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
Curt was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y. on February 8, 1959 to Agnes and Angelo Bonafiglia. He was a graduate of Mynderse Academy and later went on to complete his bachelor's degree from St. John Fisher, his master's degree from New York University and his doctoral degree in Psychology from Pepperdine University.
Curt was employed as an Industrial and Organizational Psychologist for over 20 years. He had a passion for driving organizational performance and leadership development that carried him through successful roles at McKesson Medical, Thyssenkrupp, and most recently as a part of BonaDent, his family's business.
Curt loved to travel and had toured the world both professionally and personally. He was known for his carefree, adventuresome spirit, incredible sense of humor, loving nature, and infectious smile. Even from a young age, Curt loved music, theater, driving cool cars, cooking, and spending time with family and close friends. In recent years he had become politically active and was proud to have taken part in Stacy Abrams' gubernatorial campaign in Atlanta, Ga.
Curt was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes; and is survived by his father, Angelo; brother, Bruce (Lisa); sister, Andrea; sister-in-law, Diane; nieces Daniele (Phil) Wirth, and Erin (Johnny Hurlburt); and nephew, Ben. His joy and light will forever glow in his grand-nieces and nephews Ella, Harrison, Indy and Jovie. Curt is also survived by his husband, Stuart Terrell; and their two dogs Cooper and Roary.
