Danielle M. (Ashley) DeChick

Danielle "Donny" DeChick, 74, lifelong resident of Seneca Falls, passed away on Monday, May 1st, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 5th at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, where Danielle was a lifelong contributor.

Danielle was born in Seneca Falls, NY, the only daughter of the late Daniel and Stella (Blawski) Ashley. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mynderse Academy, Class of 1966. She married Lawrence "Larry" DeChick on August 19th, 1972 in Seneca Falls. She found great joy in the fact that she worked for many years in the kitchen at Antonina's restaurant; the same place her mother had worked as well. She had a big heart for animals, especially for dogs and cats, and she enjoyed feeding the birds outside of her home. Cardinals, blue jays and hummingbirds were her favorites. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandson. Donny also held a special place in her heart for many of her aunts and uncles, both on the Ashley and Blawski sides of her family. Those who knew her best also knew that she had a great fondness for all things chocolate.

Danielle is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry; son, Stephen and his wife Nicole DeChick; grandchildren, Daniel (Brandy), Gabrielle (Matt), Jacob (Kayla), Allyea (Zach); very special great-grandson, Alex; as well as her extended family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn DeChick; brother, David Ashley; and dearest friend who was like a sister, Mary Rose Traub.
