Seneca Falls - Donald R. "Picker" Rotondo, Sr., 87, of Routes 5 and 20, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday (August 5, 2018) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday (August 9) from 4 PM to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday (August 10) at 10 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Floyd Marsh, Pastor of Harvest Field Baptist Church, Fayette, NY, officiating. Burial will follow in Restvale Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to Harvest Field Baptist Church, 2382 Leader Rd., Fayette, NY 13065 The Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Thursday evening (August 8) at 7 PM. Don was born in Weedsport, NY on April 6, 1931 the son of the late Joseph & Lena Rotondo. He had resided in Seneca Falls for most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He had served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic. Don was retired from International Union of Operating Engineers having been a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Harvest Field Baptist Church, Fayette, NY and was a member and past president of the Rushville, NY Lions Club. He was a member of the Nation Rifle Association and a past member of Kirk-Casey Post American Legion #366, Seneca Falls, NY. He was an avid coin collector, hunter and fisherman. He is survived by: 2 daughters - Donna (Bill) Law - Seneca Falls, NY Karen (Glen) Boykin - Seneca Falls, NY 2 sons - Donald Rotondo Jr. - Seneca Falls, NY Dennis Rotondo - Auburn, NY 9 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson His 2 special grandsons whom he loved to fish and chat with, Joe and Nick 3 sisters - Joanne Meyer - Seneca Falls, NY Kathy Brackett - Manchester, NY Ruth (Jeff) DeVeronica - Marion, NY 4 brothers - Charlie Rotondo - Waterloo, NY Richard (Betsey) Rotondo - Mays Point, NY Doug (Cindy) Rotondo - Port Byron, NY Steve Rotondo - California Several nieces and nephews His special friends, John & Roseanne Brandon & Family In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his wife, Carol "Sue" Rotondo who died March 2, 2010, his great granddaughter, Ashley Rotondo, 2 sisters, Doris Watson & Betty Ward, 2 brothers, Paul & Joseph Rotondo, & his step-mother, Benola Rotondo.
