Floyd K. Collins

February 18, 1928 — September 15, 2021

Seneca Falls

Floyd Keith Collins, 93, of Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on September 15, 2021. A private ceremony and service will be held at Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls. Interment will follow at Springbrook Cemetery.

Floyd was born in Coaltown, PA, the son of the late Ford and Jane (Armstrong) Collins. After serving in the United States Navy beginning in 1946, he proudly took advantage of the GI Bill to earn an engineering degree at Grove City College, in Grove City, PA. While a student at Grove City, Floyd met fellow student Geraldine Forrest. They married in 1949, and remained together for 72 years, until his passing. Floyd worked as an R&D engineer and manager of R&D for NA Philips in Ohio and Seneca Falls, retiring in 1985. He had a creative and inquisitive mind, and spent countless hours building and repairing furniture, cabinetry, clocks, electronics, and more handy spur-of-the-moment inventions than anyone could possibly catalogue. He even found time to paint a landscape or two. After Floyd's retirement, he and Geraldine spent 30-plus years traveling the United States in their RV, seeing the sights, setting up shop at antique shows, and visiting with camping friends.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; children, Christopher Collins, Sheila Collins, and Timothy (Rebecca) Collins; four grandchildren; brother, Bob (Arlene) Collins; sister, Della Macomber, and many extended family and friends.
