It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Frederick L. Galletti, Jr. on October 22, 2024. He was born in Seneca Falls, the second of four siblings to the late Frederick Galletti, Sr. and Mary (Pioli) Galletti where he resided his entire life. Fred attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from Mynderse Academy Class of 1954. On September 2, 1957, Fred married Lorraine A. Fiorelli and together they raised four children.
Fred worked many years at Westcott Rule Company, GTE Sylvania, and then Xerox Corporation from which he retired. He enjoyed golfing (especially with his grandson Benjamin), playing Bocce with family and in the leagues at the SMS, and bowling (he was a member of the 700 Club).
Fred was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lorraine (Fiorelli), sons, Dr. Fred Galletti, III of Cicero, NY, Charles (Margaret) of Wyoming, NY, daughters Michele Galletti of North Syracuse, NY, Cynthia (Kevin) Gladis of Dover, PA., 5 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Sylvia Manino of Seneca Falls, NY, Jeanette Dobie of East Williamson, NY, brother David Galletti of Columbus, Ohio, uncle Louis Pioli of York, PA., a special cousin and friend Ben Giovannetti of Seneca Falls, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Per Fred's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11AM at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow at St. Columbkille Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Joel Fontanarosa and his staff at The Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Fred's hospital stay. We also wish to thank Dr. Philip Wirth and his staff for their dedication and compassionate care of Fred over the past several years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's honor to the American Cancer Society.
