Gary L. Rooker, Sr.

Gary L. Rooker, Sr., 72, passed in the comfort of his own home, on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. In keeping with Gary’s wishes, all services will be private, held at the convenience of this family. Donations in memory may be made to a local animal shelter.

Gary was born in St. Mary’s, PA, son of Calvin and Mary (Zink) Rooker. His family moved to Seneca Falls, he graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1971. Over the summer after graduating, Gary united in marriage with Robin Deal on August 7th, 1971 at St. Patrick’s Church, and just a few weeks later, he joined the Air Force and served proudly for the next 4 years. Upon returning to Seneca Falls, Gary started working for ITT Goulds and began what would become a 40 year career with the company.

Gary always enjoyed working with his hands and was known as a Jack-of-all-trades. He liked woodworking, keeping his property neat and tidy, and even built the house that he and Robin have called home for years. One to always look for the adventure in things, Gary and Robin loved to travel the country and see what adventures awaited them. They extensively traveled all over the United States, Bermuda and Aruba. Along their travels they enjoyed stopping at the various casino, museums and National Parks. Declaring himself as an amateur photographer Gary enjoyed photographing all their adventures.

Gary is survived by his wife, Robin; daughter, Melonie (Peter) Forgét; mother, Mary Rooker; sister, Pam (Vin) Cuviello; brother, Keith (Irene) Rooker; several nieces and nephews including a very special nephew, Jamison (Maggie) Deal, whom he had a very close relationship with; as well as his pride and joy, his grand dogs, Piper and Coal.

Gary was predeceased by his son, Gary Rooker Jr., father, Calvin Rooker and father and mother-in-law, Justin and Judy Deal.
