Seneca Falls - Gene Marechaux, 59, of Hawley St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday (November 4, 2018) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY.
Funeral services and burial, as per Gene's request, will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours.
Gene was born in Rutland, Vermont on April 20, 1959 the son of the late Alexander & Alice Fife Marechaux. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1999, moving from New York City. He had been employed as a carpenter for Carpenter's Union #277 of Syracuse, NY. Gene was both a Goldsmith and a Silversmith who had a talent for creating beautiful jewelry. He, also, was a great animal lover, especially of his pet dog, Rocky.
He is survived by:
His wife, Dianna Turo Marechaux of Seneca Falls whom he married on September 30, 1983
1 step-daughter - Shelly Baran - Waterloo, NY
3 brothers - Scott Marechaux - Belmont, NY
Curtis Marechaux - Vermont
Jason Marechaux - Vermont
1 sister - Laurie Marechaux - Vermont
His step-grandchildren - Christopher & Jacklyn Pagano, Catelyn Baran, & Ryan Avery
His father-in-law - Frank Turo - Savannah, NY
2 step-brothers & 2 step-sisters

Several nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by 1 brother, Hunter Marechaux, a step-son, David Avery, & his mother-in-law, Laura Turo.
