Irene M. (Matrisin) Calabro

Irene M. Calabro, age 85, of La Jolla, California, formerly of Seneca Falls, New York, passed away on December 17, 2011. Irene was born on March 4, 1926, in Waterman Pennsylvania to Joseph and Anna Metrisin, one of 10 children. Irene resided and raised her family in Seneca Falls where she operated a beauty salon for many years. In later years she served as both partner and owner of Cayuga Gallery of Homes. In the years prior to her death, she resided at The League House in La Jolla where she leaves many dear friends. She was preceded in death by husband Joseph Calabro, and daughters, Josephine and Rene. She is survived by sisters Marge Koenig of Cumberland, RI, and Ann Zakman of Greensburg, PA and brother-in-law Charles Calabro of Geneva, NY. She is survived by her children Thomas (Joanne) Calabro, of Powell Ohio, Paula (Malcolm Jones) and Alan Calabro both of La Jolla California. She is also survived by grandchildren Renee(Andy), Jennifer (Jorge), Brian, Eric, Alex and Trevor, and great grandson Sebastian as well as her beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends. Graveside Services will be held on Friday (July 6, 2012) at 1 PM at Saint Columbkille Cemetery in Seneca Falls, New York, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating.
