Waterloo - Jesse J. Rausch, 86, of W. Elisha St., Waterloo, NY, died Wednesday (May 9, 2012) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 30 Center St., Waterloo, NY on Friday (May 11) from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (May 12) at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterloo. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to the charity of one's choice. The Waterloo Memorial Post #6433 V.F.W and the Warner-VanRiper Post #435 American Legion, both of Waterloo, NY, will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Friday (May 11) at 7 PM. Jesse was born in Eden, NY on July 24, 1925 the son of the late Matthias J. and Pearl Wilson Rausch. He was a life resident of Waterloo and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from American Can Company of Geneva, NY. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Waterloo, the Waterloo Fire Department, the Waterloo Sportsman's Club, the Seneca Lake Duck Club, the Fayette Hunting Club, and the Warner-VanRiper Post #435 American Legion of Waterloo. Jesse was an electrician by trade as well as an avid hunter, fisherman, and woodworker. He is survived by: His wife, Patricia O'Malley Rausch of Waterloo, whom he married on December 3, 1945 1 daughter - Patricia (Larry) Sliker - Honeoye, NY 2 sons - William (Gail) Rausch - Baldwinsville, NY David (Joan) Rausch - Chili, NY 6 grandchildren - Matthew & Amanda Rausch, Kelli (Jason) Davidson, Cynthia (Mark) Michaelson, Shelly (Thom) Craver, & Elissa (Alan) Schaeffer 7 great grandchildren - Ellie & Sean Craver, Lucy Schaeffer, Connor, Parker, & Liam Davidson, Livvy Michaelson 1 niece, Kristine Chadwick and 1 nephew, Kyle Chadwick His brother-in-law - Kenneth Chadwick - Virginia In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Christopher Sliker and his step-mother, Helen Rausch.
