Seneca Falls - John "Jack" P. Mahoney, 88, of South St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday (April 10, 2017) at his residence with Annie, Jim, & his furry friends by his side. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Tuesday (April 18) from 4 PM to 7 PM. Jack's Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (April 19) at 10 AM St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Francis/St. Clare Parish, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to Fetch-A-Friend Rescue, 92 Garden St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148. The Waterloo V.F.W. & American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Tuesday (April 18) at 7 Jack was born in Seneca Falls, NY on February 8, 1929 the son of the late John & Winifred Gallagher Mahoney. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls. He was a car salesman for area dealerships in both Auburn and Seneca Falls for over 30 years and this earned him the nickname "Shamrock Mahoney". He was a member of St. Patrick's Church Seneca Falls, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, John F. Kennedy Chapter, Auburn, NY, a life member and commander of the Mynderse-Rice Post #97 American Legion, Auburn, NY, and the La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et & Chevauka Voitue Locale 1064, Auburn, NY. Jack looked forward to annual vacations to Florida & Lake George where he was always able to find an American Legion Post and make a friend or two. Jack loved everything Irish & was very proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by: 1 daughter - Patricia "Annie" (Jim Woodard) Mahoney - Seneca Falls, NY His sisters-in-laws: Kay (Mike) Harvey - California Marlene Dooley - Texas Linda (Larry) Adams - Jamestown, NY Janet (Dennis) Camp - Cayuga, NY Several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his wife, Joyce "Bonnie" Mahoney who died August 25, 2014 and his mother-in-law, Marlette Morehouse who died November 2, 2014.
