Seneca Falls - John J. McMahon, 72, of Indian Hills Drive, Waterloo, NY, formerly of Seneca Falls, died Sunday (March 24, 2013) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Saturday (April 20, 2013) from 11 AM to 1 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1 PM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, NY, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to the House of Concern, 35 State St., Seneca Falls, NY 13148 or to a food pantry of one's choice. John was born in Seneca Falls on September 30, 1940 the son of the late Leo & Margaret Hurley McMahon. He was a graduate of St. Patrick's School and a 1959 graduate of Mynderse Academy, both of Seneca Falls. John worked 20 years at the Seneca Knitting Mill and for 25 years at Parker-Hanifin in Lyons, NY. John was a kind and generous person who was always giving to the poor. Over the years, he donated each month to the House of Concern in Seneca Falls and food pantries in Lyons, NY. John will be especially remembered by his seven nieces and nephews for all the trips they took with him as they grew up. He is survived by: 1 sister - Eileen Miller - Seneca Falls, NY 2 brothers - Leo (Kathy) McMahon - Westchester, PA. Joseph (Judy) McMahon - Stewart, FL. 3 nieces - Victoria (Vern) Burm, Julie (Emanual) Todorov, & Janel (Mike) McMahon 4 nephews - Philip (Dawn) Miller, Martin (Kelly) Miller, Daniel (Sherry) Miller, & James (Marcia) McMahon.
