Seneca Falls - Joseph A. Gallina, 87, of Chestnut St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday (September 22, 2018) at his residence.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Tuesday (September 25) from 4 PM to 7 PM followed a funeral service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls, at the convenience of the family.
The VFW Post #6433 & the Warner-VanRiper Honor Guard & the American Legion Post #435 Honor Guard, both of Waterloo will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Tuesday evening (September 25) at 6:45 PM
Joe was born in Seneca Falls, NY on May 14, 1931 the son of the late Mario & Elizabeth Bianchi Gallina. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe was retired from the Village of Seneca Falls Water Dept. You could often see Joe manicuring the many flowerbeds that covered the former village hall grounds. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992, & the Waterloo VFW Post #6433.
He is survived by:
1 daughter - Diane T. Durnin - Alexandria, Virginia
1 brother - Albert Gallina - Seneca Falls, NY
Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife, Anna Bojczuk Gallina who died December 26, 2009, 4 sisters, Carmella, Neli, Phyllis, & Elena Gallina, 5 brothers, Matio, Phillip, Tony, Matthew, & Mario Gallina.
