Seneca Falls - Joseph E. Lopez, 73, of Anthony Drive, Seneca Falls, NY, died Tuesday (June 26, 2012) at Clifton Springs Hospital, Clifton Springs, NY, after a 5 year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Thursday (June 28) from 6 -8 PM. Joe's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (June 29) at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter, River Rd., Waterloo, NY 13165. The Seneca Falls Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the funeral home on Thursday evening (June 28) at 8 PM. Joe was born in Clyde, NY on July 11, 1938 the son of the late Louis and Josephine Piscitelli Lopez. He served in the U.S. Army and was a resident of Seneca Falls for most of his life. He was retired from Gould's Pumps of Seneca Falls where he was a Machine Shop Foreman. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and a former member of the S.M.S and Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992. Joe just loved his trips to the casino. He is survived by: His wife, Mary Leonard Lopez of Seneca Falls, whom he married on April 20, 1961 1 sister - Carolyn Hlywa - Seneca Falls, NY 3 brothers - John Lopez - Florida Eugene (Sandra) Lopez - Seneca Falls, NY Robert (Linda) Lopez - Louisiana 1 sister-in-law - Susan Lopez - Seneca Falls, NY 1 sister-in-law & brother-in-law - Lynne & Larry McMillen - Seneca Falls, NY Several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by 1 brother, Edward Lopez who died April 26, 2012.
