Linda Ann Hase, age 80, of Seneca Falls, NY passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021. She is survived by her husband, David; her children and their spouses, Kimberly and Jacob Galek and Scott and Bethany Hase; her grandchildren, Olivia, Samantha, and Adam; nieces, nephews, and cousins; generations of friends, and many dozens of former preschool students who know her as Mrs. Linda.
Linda grew up in Irondequoit where she attended Irondequoit High School, and then Alfred State College; she was always willing to embark on new adventures. After graduating she worked as a secretary at Kodak, buying a powder blue convertible with a rectangle steering wheel and teaching herself to drive a car with a manual transmission. Not long later she met her husband, David, at Marge's Lakeside Inn in Rochester. Over the next 57 years they traveled to national parks in a homemade camper, bought a house in Webster, had two children, and moved to Wolcott, NY, to live in a house on Port Bay. She led the girl scout and cub scout troops, planned family vacations, joined a local church, took ceramics classes, and even drove a snow plow. Linda was a preschool teacher for 10 years, then an office manager for a car dealership, and ultimately worked in insurance sales. Upon Linda's retirement, she and David lived as snow birds for six years. Eventually, they settled in Seneca Falls, with their daughter's family.
She loved, in no particular order, her dogs, swimming, camping, Disney World, square dancing, talking to EVERYONE, Broadway, French Onion Soup, chasing hot air balloons, giraffes, talking to and about her grandchildren, Abba music, collecting holiday decorations, the Buffalo Bills, and sitting on her porch swing. She did NOT like going fast, riding on chairlifts (or anything elevated!), or when loved ones rode motorcycles. Linda never met a stranger that didn't become a friend, and she made everyone feel welcomed, interesting, and cared about. She loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Linda is now at peace surrounded by light.
