Seneca Falls: Maria C. Corris, also known to her family and close friends as Mary, passed away on Friday, May 6th, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 102. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 15th from 2 - 5 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 16th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Watkins Glen. Donations in memory may be made to St. Francis & St. Clare Parish, 35 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Maria was born and raised in New York City, the daughter of the late Antonio and Luisa (Angelozzi) Lopo. After high school she attended the Leonardo DaVinci Art School in New York City. In her younger years, she worked as a fit model for clothing, and later made a career as a Computer Operator for Fishing & Travel Magazine in Floral Park, NY. She was married to the late Calvin A. Felicetti until his passing in 1967. In November of 1986, she relocated to Seneca Falls and was united in marriage to the late Charles J. Corris. The couple enjoyed 19 years together until Charles' passing in 2005.
Mary was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Taylor-Brown Auxiliary, Seniors group at St. Mary's Church, and a former member of the St. Patrick's Guild and Altar Society and Knights of Columbus Auxiliary at St. Patrick's Church. Mary also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and was a world traveler who wanted to see all that the world had to offer. She had a genuine interest in learning about other people and was known for making complete strangers, lifelong friends. She also loved to play cards, especially the game SKIP-BO.
Maria is survived by her two nieces, Kim (Pat) Winburn of Bennington, VT and Donna Florek of Deerfield Beach, FL; two nephews, Frank (Mary) Giaquinto of Cape Vincent, NY and Anthony Giaquinto of Royal Palm Beach of FL; step-daughter, Janet (Neil) LeRoux of Seneca Falls; step-son, Raymond (Miriam) Corris of NYC; great-nieces and nephews, Mark (Allysha) Winburn, Sunrise Winburn, Amy (Eddie) Tilidetzke-Travesio, and Joseph Giaquinto; great-great-nieces and nephews, Woodrow Persius Winburn and Shelby Giaquinto; as well as several favorite cousins and many friends as she never met anybody who wasn't a friend. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Calvin and Charles; sisters, Ines Giaquinto and Jackie Fontana; nephews, Johnny Fontana and Lawrence Florek; and niece, Cheryl Nicklaw.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and thank you to Tammy Skinner, Annette Miller, and Amanda Cooley for the wonderful care given to Maria in her final days.
