Mark R. Thomas

June 21, 1973 — November 25, 2024

Seneca Falls

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Mark R. “T-Bone” Thomas, who left this world on November 25, 2024, at the age of 51. Mark was a man of unparalleled kindness, vibrant energy, and a zest for life that enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Born on June 21, 1973, to Robert and Ellen Thomas, Mark grew up with a deep appreciation for life, family, and the simple joys of the world. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, whom he cared for deeply, especially his father, for whom he devoted much of his time and love.

Mark was the cherished husband of Nicole Widell Thomas, his soulmate and partner in life. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments. Nicole and Mark shared a bond strengthened by their shared passions and the joy of spending time together in their garden, traveling, and simply enjoying the small but beautiful moments of life.

A winemaker at Swedish Hill for decades, Mark poured his heart into his craft, creating wines that reflected his dedication and artistry. At work, he was just as he was in life—attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. Mark was also known for his love of cats, tending to not only his own beloved feline companions but also the cats around Swedish Hill. His affection for them was a testament to his nurturing and generous spirit.

Mark had a great love for music, knowing the lyrics to every song he ever heard and finding joy in live performances. Fishing during his years at the lake brought him peace, and tending fires—whether on vacations with Nicole or at the fire pit he built in their backyard—was one of his many cherished pastimes. He also enjoyed gardening with Nicole, especially when it came to growing his favorite hot peppers.

Mark’s presence was magnetic; he had an undeniable ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for. His kindness, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to the world, his unshakable love for his wife, and the legacy of kindness and connection he leaves behind.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Nicole, as well as a host of family, friends, and colleagues who will honor his memory by carrying forward the lessons of love and compassion he embodied.

A celebration of Mark’s remarkable life will be held at the Red Brick Pub in Seneca Falls on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 1-5 PM.

Mark, you were a light in the lives of so many. Your warmth, humor, and kindness will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace. You are loved and will be wholeheartedly missed.
