Waterloo: Mary K. Smith, age 82, of Waterloo and formerly of Seneca Falls, passed away on Monday, February 7th, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Services for Mary will be private, held at the convenience of the family. Donations in her memory may be made to either North Seneca Ambulance, 1645 North Road, Waterloo, NY 13165, Mercy Flight Central, 2420 Brickyard Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424, or to St. Mary's Church, 35 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Mary was born in Waterloo, NY, the daughter of the late George and Betty (Troidle) Hollfelder. She attended local schools and graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls. When she was 22, she married the late Lawrence A. Smith, with whom she shared 43 wonderful years until his passing in 2005. Mary was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Mary's Church in Waterloo. For many years, Mary owned and operated the Antique Treasure Shoppe on Route 318 in Seneca Falls, which she later renamed to Catch All Collectibles when she relocated to Penny Lane in Waterloo. She always enjoyed her jewelry crafting and was very proud of the Blue Ribbons she won from the county fair.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Karen Paradise, Judith Scowcroft, and Jill Egan; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Cory, Jason, Ashley, Nathan, Devin, and Shane; two great-grandchildren, Gatlin and Wilhelmina; and sister, Elsie Deming. In addition to her husband, Lawrence, she was predeceased by her brothers, William Hollfelder and George Braun; sister, Betty Perrotto; brother-in- law, Raymond Deming; and son-in-law, Craig Scowcroft.
