Michael C. Pedersen

Michael C. Pedersen, 74, passed unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024. In keeping with Mike’s wishes, his services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.

Mike was born in Clifton Springs, the only son of Willey and Elizabeth (Pease) Pedersen. He grew up in Stanley and Rochester where he graduated from East High School, Class of 1968. In 1969, Mike was drafted into the US Army where he served during Vietnam and was honorably discharge in 1971. He furthered his education at SUNY Brockport where he received a degree in business. Mike always had a nose for business. For many years he ran Geneva Bicycle Center, a destination for many bicycle enthusiasts in the area. In 1995, Mike sold the bike shop and relocated to Waterloo, his home for the last 30 years. Most recently Mike worked for Casella at their recycling center in Stanley.

Mike loved to golf. In the summer months, you could find him enjoying many of the local golf courses scattered around the Finger Lakes. He also loved being on the water. For many years he had a camp on Cross Lake, where he enjoyed boating and spending time with his friends.

Mike is survived by his sisters, Sally (Mark) Anderson and Patricia (Paul) Groschadl; 3 nieces; and several close friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Karen Sell.
