Nicholas A. Delia Seneca Falls - Nicholas A. Delia, 93, of Maynard St., Seneca Falls, NY, died peacefully at his home on Monday (August 25, 2014) surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends may attend Nick's Memorial Mass on Saturday (August 30) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, c/o St. Patrick's Church Office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to Lifetime Care (Hospice) 1120 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513. Nick was born in Seneca Falls, on July 2, 1921 the son of the late Vincenzo James and Rosa Centola Delia. He was a life resident of Seneca Falls. He retired in 1981, after 34 years of service, from American Can in Geneva, NY where he was an Inspector. Nick was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and the International Brotherhood of Machinists. He was an avid fisherman, hunter & gardener, as well as a great cook. He loved to raise bird dogs, especially Brittany Spaniels and Pointers. Nick was a wonderful storyteller and a very hard worker. He was also very creative and could fix anything. Most of all, it can be said, that Nick was a loving family man. He is survived by; his wife, Marina "Marie" Pioli Delia of Seneca Falls, whom he married on November 21, 1943 and whom he enjoyed just over 70 years of marriage with; one son James (Judy) Delia of Romulus, N.Y.; one daughter Sharon (Richard) Tyler of Seneca Falls; six grandchildren Nicholas (Jessica) Delia, Kimberly (James) Eyerman, Laurie (Robert) VanThof, Cara (Drew) Costello, Eric (Kelly Parker) Tyler & Gregory Tyler; 10 great-grandchildren Abby & Luke Delia, Hannah, Chloe, Jimmy, & Joseph Eyerman, Casey & Nicholas Costello, Madison Tyler & Brandon DiCicco; one great-great-granddaughter Zoey Eyerman; one sister Anna (Louis "Chipper") Vergamini of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, & many wonderful friends In addition to his parents, Nick was predeceased by one sister, Rose Bonetti.
