Seneca Falls - Paul Bellardino, 88, of W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Sunday (February 17, 2013) at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center , Scranton, PA. Family and friends may attend Paul's Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday (February 23) at 11 AM at St. Patrick' s Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will be in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, c/o St. Patrick's Church Office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls, NY. Paul was born in Pelligrina, Italy on March 14, 1924 the son of the late John & Vincenza Scordo Bellardino. He had resided in Seneca Falls for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as part of an anti-tank company in the 118th infantry. His campaigns and battles included, Central Europe, Naples, Foggia, Rhineland, Rome, & Arno. Paul's specialty in his military career included being an interpreter, military policeman, and a rifleman. He was awarded the European African Middle East Service Medal, & the World War II Victory Medal. Paul had owned and operated his own construction company, in Seneca Falls, for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, a life member of the S.M.S. and a member of the Rumseyville Sportsman's Club, all of Seneca Falls. Paul was an avid hunter for many years, but his favorite pass time was playing Bocce and participating in Bocce tournaments, however, his greatest joy and passion was his family. He is survived by: 1 daughter - Paula (Anthony) DePietro - Olyphant, PA. 1 son - John (Sandra) Bellardino - Newburg, NY 3 grandchildren - Tre DePietro, Gianna & Sofia Bellardino His many nieces and nephews whose love and respect he deeply appreciated not only during his illness but through his life. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his wife, Mary S. Bellardino who died March 4, 1990, his brother, John Bellardino and his sister, Marianna Caratozzolo.
