Seneca Falls - Richard D. Allbright, 87, of Fall St., Seneca Falls, NY, died Thursday (March 22, 2012) at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Sunday (March 25) from 4 - 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday (March 26) at 8:45 AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, C/o St. Patrick's Church Office, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165, or Hospice, 1120 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513. Dick was born in Hinsdale, IL. on November 17, 1924, the son of the late Rufus D. & Mildred Lauer Allbright. He was a graduate of LyonsTownship High School and had attended Lyons Township Junior College in Western Springs, IL. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a bomber pilot flying a B-17 known as Oh, Miss Agnes and was a Prisoner of War. He was the last surviving member of his flight crew. He returned to active duty during the Korean War. He had resided in Seneca Falls since 1972, previously living in Illinois, Massachusetts, & Michigan. He was retired from the former Guaranteed Parts of Seneca Falls where he was National Sales Manager. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 and the Seneca Falls Knights of Columbus, #222. Dick, along with his wife Joan, had been active in the annual Seneca Falls Senior Follies. He also donated his time to the Meals on Wheels program and spent time singing on a regular schedule at both Seneca Nursing Home and Huntington Living Center, both in Waterloo. Dick enjoyed traveling, making wine, and gardening. Dick volunteered for years as Financial Manager at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca Falls. He is survived by: His wife, Joan Battle Reardon Allbright of Seneca Falls whom he married on December 10, 1983 3 daughters - Nancy (William) Milkofsky - Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, NY Peggy (John) Lynch - Geneva, NY Mary Jo (Mike) McManus - Enfield, CT. 2 step-daughters - Kathleen Reardon Mosher - Auburn, NY Maureen (Keith) Armitage - Michigan 2 step-sons - William Reardon - Auburn, NY James (Angela) Reardon - Seneca Falls, NY 1 sister - Ethlyn (Bruce) Yount - Bloomington, IL 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Marilyn Walsh Allbright, 1 brother, William Allbright, 1 sister, Betty Hobbs, and his granddaughter, Amy Armitage.
