Duanesburg, NY: Richard J. Campbell, 75, of Duanesburg, and formerly of Seneca Falls, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday, August 8th, 2022. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 12 noon at St. Columbkille Cemetery in Seneca Falls. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Clam Man's Party House in Seneca Falls immediately following the Graveside Service. Donations in memory of Richard may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
Richard was born in Seneca Falls, one of six children born to the late John and Margaret (Pitts) Campbell. He graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1966, served in the United States Navy for four years, received his Associates degree from Auburn Community College, and then furthered his education at Pittsburgh University where he received his bachelor's in civil engineering.
Rich had worked for and retired after a 20-year career with the Army Corps of Engineers where he worked as a Civil Engineer. He had also worked on the Alaskan pipeline for a few years, and for 10 years he owned and managed Moshier's Bar & Restaurant in Seneca Falls.
Rich enjoyed living an active lifestyle. In his youth he enjoyed bowling, and later in life he enjoyed playing golf as well as riding his bike and walking. He was also a fan of the Minnesota Twins.
Rich is survived by his long-time companion, Violet Robbins and her children, Norman (Robin Suits) Robbins and Tracy (Kurt) Robbins-Garrison; grandchildren, Kendal (Ryan), Zachary, Paige (Adrian), Ariana (Tyler); great-granddaughter, Violet; brothers, John (Martha) and William (Joan) Campbell; sister, Mary Lou (Robert Ridall) McCabe; sister-in-law, Gail Campbell, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Richard was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Robert Campbell.
