Waterloo - Richard D. "Rick" Prosser, 67, of Waterloo, NY, died Monday (August 27, 2012) at the House of John, Clifton Springs, NY with his family by his side. Family & friends may attend graveside services, with military honors, for Richard on Tuesday (September 4) at 1 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY, with Reverend Eleanor Collinsworth, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Seneca Falls, NY, officiating. There will be no prior calling hours. If desired, contributions may be made in Rick's memory to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432. Arrangements are under the direction of Doran Funeral Home, Seneca Falls, NY. Richard was born in Waterloo, NY on March 28, 1945 the son of the late William & June Hilligus Prosser. After losing his father at a young age, he was raised by his mom and his step dad, Donald Kaufman, whom he admired and loved as his own father. He had lived most of his life in Waterloo and spent 10 years living in Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. Most of his life he spent working on the family dairy farm. After selling the farm in the early 1990's he worked as a truck driver for Earl T.Wadham's and Long's Trucking of Penn Yan, NY. He had been a member of the V.F. W. in Florida. Rick will be missed and fondly remembered and for his strong work ethic and great sense of humor. He is survived by: 1 son- Carl W. Prosser - Waterloo, NY 1 daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and James "Jimmer" Stevers - Seneca Falls, NY 8 grandchildren - James, Ryan, Peyton, & Lucas Stevers and Isaiah, Elijah, Josiah, & Maya Prosser. 1 sister and brother-in-law - Sharyn and Ron Wheeler - Newark, NY Several nieces, nephews and cousins In addition to his parents, and stepfather, he was predeceased by a brother, David and a sister, Sandy Ridley.
