Waterloo/Seneca Falls - Sharon E. Smith 64, of Wagner St., Waterloo, NY and formerly of Seneca Falls, NY., died Saturday (October 3, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY on Wednesday (October 7) from 4 to 6 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (October 8) at 10 AM at the funeral home with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron, NY. Sharon was born in Auburn, NY on February 23, 1951 the daughter of the late William & Madeline Holmes Sliter. She had resided in the Waterloo/Seneca Falls area since 1980. She was retired from the former Seneca Knitting Mills & had, at one time, worked at Seneca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. Sharon had volunteered at the Cady-Stanton School Library in Seneca Falls. She loved to crochet, read and visit the zoo. She was a caring individual with the neighborhood kids and greatly enjoyed the times she spent with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved those grandchildren school and sports events. She is survived by: 2 daughters - Cherie (Joseph) Hunt - Geneva, NY Jessica (Jason) Agnello - Seneca Falls, NY 1 son - Joseph P. (Melissa) Smith - Waterloo, NY 5 grandchildren - William & Kaylie Bouchey, Erica Reynolds, Joshua (Tia Aunkst) Tavano, & Taylor Smith. 3 sisters - Katherine Smith - Port Byron, NY Eunice Green - Auburn, NY Hollis Butler - Aurelius, NY 1 brother - William (Barb) Sliter - Owasco, NY Several nieces and nephews In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Joseph John Smith who died June 4, 2010 and her granddaughter, Jordan Marie Smith who died March 1, 2000 Please leave a condolence or light a candle in memory of Sharon at: doranfuneralhome.com
