Sherry Lee Catherine Rotunda

Waterloo - Sherry Lee Catherine Rotunda, 68, passed away on Friday, July 15th, 2022 at Geneva General Hospital with her family by her side. Family and friends will gather from 10 - 11 AM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11 AM on Friday, July 29th at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial will follow at Maplegrove Cemetery.

She was born in Waterloo, NY to the late Paul Rotunda and Elfleda Evertt. She was a lifelong resident of the Seneca Falls and Waterloo area, where she held various jobs; including as a nurse at Taylor Brown Hospital, helping at the House of Concern, as well as a devoted stay at home mom for her family.

Sherry was known for her strength and courage, being outspoken and head strong, as well as her caring personality. Crafting and making candy with her sister and best friend, Patricia Fasciana always brought her joy and playing cards with her nephew, George, as well as family picnics at Cayuga Lake were also some of her favorite pastimes.

In addition to her beloved companion of 38 years, Paul Trapp, Sherry is also survived by her children, Jennifer Rotunda, Jeremy (Joshua Thomas) Trapp, and Jessica Trapp; grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan Avery) Murphy, Rebecca Murphy, Kira Trapp, and Skylnn Trapp; great-grandchildren, Izaak Avery and Chanelle Bennett; siblings, Dale Black, Eleanor (Lenny) Laird, and Norman (Nancy) Rotunda.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was predeceased by her aunt, Pauline Bojczuk; granddaughter, Lily Murphy; son-in-law, Gordon Murphy; and her best friend Patricia Fasciana.
