Stan was born in Cincinnati, OH, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Boyd) Schreier. The family relocated to the Finger Lakes when Stan was a young age, and he grew up in the area. In 1965 he joined the Army and served proudly until 1968 when he was honorably discharged. In February of 1967 he took leave from the Army to come home and marry his beloved, Faith (White) Schreier; the couple recently celebrating 58 years together. Upon Stan’s discharge from the Army, he and his new family moved to Florida where he worked at a family business as a landscape architect. A few years later he and his family relocated to Seneca Falls, where Stan got an opportunity to work corrections for the Seneca County Sheriff, which would prove to be his best move. He started as a turn key and worked his way up to Seneca County Captain of Corrections; a career that spanned from 1967 until 2007. He was instrumental in developing the Seneca County Correctional Facility as it stands today, and he was proud of not only the hard work he put in, but of the lifelong connections he made with others at Seneca County.

Outside of work, Stan was a man who enjoyed working with his hands. From a young age, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, gardening in his backyard, and in the warmer weather enjoyed playing golf. He loved to travel to Put-In-Bay on South Bass Island in Ohio, where he would spend time with family and enjoyed fishing. He was an excellent marksman, always scoring well on his shooting tests, and was a member of the NRA. While not a founding member, he was a proud member of the Schreier Liars Club. He was always a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, but once he retired, his family became his true focus. On August 20, 2020, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savoir.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Faith; daughter, Sonya (Friend, Dan Galgano) Schreier; sons, Steven (Gina) and Randy (Michelle) Schreier; grandchildren, Stanley L. (Ariel Smith) Schreier, Victoria (Joshua) Williams, Christina (TJ Hamilton) Schreier, Joshua, Courtney, Christopher, and Brittany Schreier, Robert (fiancé, Samantha) Deering, Maiya Roland; sixteen great-grandchildren; older beloved brother, Larry Schreier of Mount Dora, FL; beloved cousins and lifelong fishing buddies, Frank, Mac, and Joan Brown; Kamie Wilson his ever present niece; several nieces, nephews, and cousins all over the US; Steve Bennett his longtime friend from the Sheriff’s department; Roger and Becky Coyle, his wonderful brother-in-law and sister-in-law; and all Stan’s extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Patricia (Don) Wilson, and brothers, Richard and Dennis Schreier.
