Tom Ryck, 74, of Seneca Falls, passed away peacefully at Geneva General Hospital on Monday, December 20th, 2021. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10th from 6-8 PM at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls, Interment with military honors will follow at Restvale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 344 W. Genesee St. #205, Syracuse, NY 13202.
Tom was born in Seneca Falls, NY, the son of the late Andrew and Hannorah (Riley) Ryck. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and graduated from Mynderse Academy, Class of 1965. After high school, Tom joined the US Army and served 3 years overseas in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, and taking advantage of the GI Bill, he attended Florida State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Accounting. On July 27th, 1974, he married the love of his life, Marsha Cooley, and the two shared 47 years together until Tom's passing. Even before they were married the 2 were inseparable. First living in Florida together, and then moving to Maine for many years before they retired to Tom's hometown of Seneca Falls. Though Tom was always busy working he always found time for Marsha, as well as playing bridge, getting in a game of golf here and there, and rooting for his Florida State Seminoles football team. He was also a member of St.\ Patrick's Church.
In addition to Marsha, Tom is survived by his brother, Nicholas (Patty) Ryck; sisters, Anne Marie (Randy) Adler, Mary Beth (Jack) Webster, Andrea (Ande Millsaps) Ryck; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family.
